synopsis: UltraGirl (Chrissy Marie) confronts The Black Cat (Ashley Lane) only to succumb to the Cat’s claws. The Black Cat steals UltraGirl’s identity, costume and power belt and leaves the helpless heroine to struggle in an embarrasing, almost nude hogtie. Using UltraGirl’s powers, The Black Cat returns home gloating about how easy it was to steal UltraGirl’s identity only to be ambushed at home by The Crimson Skull (ShinyBound) who mistakes her for the real UltraGirl. Now, bound herself, suspended by her ankles, can The Black Cat escape this case of mistaken identity? Can UltraGirl escape and reclaim her costume and identity?
fun facts: I had worked with Chrissy Marie on a number of UltraGirl customs since her UltraGirl first appearance in a custom with ShinyBound in November 2018. My first custom with ShinyBound was in May 2018.
The first idea to cast Ashley Lane as The Black Cat was inspired by this tweet by Ashley in late 2019:
In December 2019, I found out that Ashley was going to be shooting some content with Chrissy in early 2020, so I reached out to Chrissy with a short script with Ashley playing the part of The Black Cat. We ordered Ashley her UltraGirl costume with the two models sharing Chrissy’s power belt.
While we worked to schedule the shoot, I found out Ashley was going to Las Vegas for AVN in January 2020 and it inspired the idea of having Ashley shoot with ShinyBound. The script would continue as a part 2 with Ashley as The Black Cat, now dressed as UltraGirl, being mistaken for the real thing and being captured by a villain.
After a few emails with ShinyBound and Chrissy, we coordinated the shoots and the release dates. The clips were ultimately released on the same day with Chrissy’s video referencing ShinyBound’s video and vice versa. This was quite the achievement since these videos were shot and released right before the 2020 pandemic.
I had envisioned a part 3 where UltraGirl got her revenge on The Black Cat but that story didn’t materialize. Chrissy and Ashley would reprise their roles in UltraGirl In The Clutches of The Black Cat later in 2020.
This crossover between the two producers gave me the idea to start connecting these UltraGirl custom videos into an overarching story across multiple UltraGirls and multiple producers. That story would evolve into the Ultraverse Crisis storyline. Two previous UltraGirl clips were retconned into the Crisis storyline and 2020 would be the year that the Crisis videos kicked into high gear.
While Ashley is playing The Black Cat in these two clips, I counted them as Ashley’s first appearance as UltraGirl.
