The price of pirating

It’s Friday and I’ve been known to post the following on Twitter (X) on most Fridays:

With FetishCon coming up, I thought I’d get on my soap box real quick and talk about the cost of pirating (stealing) fetish content.

Here is a tweet that I posted with the release of an UltraGirl clip starring Ashley Lane and Randy Moore, produced by Jim Weathers:

The clip itself cost $29.99 at Jim Weathers Archives before tax (purchase here: https://www.jimweathersarchives.com/store/scenes/wmbcv-1450-Adv-of-UltraGirl-Black-Cat-Scratching-Post_vids.html). For most of you, this costs less than one Starbucks coffee per month.

You’ll note that the tweet was viewed by 9.8k viewers. The data behind-the-scenes shows that 161 fans clicked through to the site. Without going into detail about what I paid for this custom video, even if all 161 fans bought the video, it would not be enough to cover the cost. This video was not produced by me, but you get the picture.

Now, I won’t point you in any particular direction, but a quick look at one pirate site reveals that similar videos can command over 17k views. If even 1% of that viewership bought a copy of the video instead of stealing it (watching it for free), it would make a big difference.

Many of you who follow the social media accounts of these models and producers benefit from free samples, previews and content posted there. While this type of fandom is appreciated, it doesn’t help pay the bills unless you buy some content. And, to be clear, if you’re a “fan” that only watches or downloads pirated (stolen) content for free, that type of fandom is not welcome.

If each of you that have never purchased a clip or a piece of content bought even one clip per year, it would go a long way to help this industry which is always under attack by those who actively seek to put it out of business. Don’t hurt the industry you love by stealing content.

Not many businesses would remain in business if over 90% of their items were stolen. And many of these models and producers are just small business owners, trying to use their talents to provide content that their customers want to see. And they may not have the resources to stop the pirate sites.

Please do your part and buy something. Buy alot of things. Do whatever you can afford within your budget. But, above all, stop stealing. Stop participating in pirating.

Thanks for reading.
